Our Story
Sayegh Group story begins with the late Faiq Ibrahim Sayegh, born in the ancient port city of Yaffa, Palestine in 1904. An entrepreneur from the beginning, Faiq established “Sayegh Group” in 1932; a company that assembled bus chassis. Working hard to grow his business, he was impacted by the growing political turmoil in the latter part of the 1940s. When the political situation in Palestine became too challenging, Faiq made the decision to move to Jordan due to occupation, with the hopes of building a new business and prospering with his growing family. In 1944, Faiq got married to labibeh Al Nims and was blessed with 3 sons and 2 daughters.
In 1949, with the vision of going into production, Faiq opened a store specialized in selling imported paint, painting tools and materials, then later in 1969, National Paints was born, beginning paint production in a small factory.
Due to the strong need for developing products, National Paints signed an agreement with a Danish company that produces furniture, automotive and industrial paints to acquire their expertise which led to the company’s first break during the years 1974 and 1975 and secured it with a regional Pan-Arab presence. Fa’eq Ibrahim Sayegh passed away in 1976, and his sons continued the expansion activities of the company and the group which eventually lead to tremendous success.
